Almost a quarter of Michiganders are renters but lack basic legal protections to ensure safe and affordable living conditions.

The Tenant Empowerment Package (TEP) would safeguard tenants’ rights and tighten up Michigan law to give all renters the tools they need to fight for those rights.

“I introduced these bills last year because renters across Michigan deserve safe, fair, and habitable housing, and this doesn’t change just because the legislation didn’t make it to the governor’s desk. I’ll keep fighting until that becomes a reality.”

– Sen. Sarah Anthony

Sen. Anthony reintroduced the Tenant Empowerment Package as Senate Bills 19-22 in the new legislative term and will continue to fight for these commonsense solutions.
