LANSING, Mich. (Jan. 25, 2023) — Sen. Darrin Camilleri (D-Trenton) has issued the following statement in response to Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s “State of the State” address on Wednesday evening:
“It’s a new day in Lansing, and our new majority is ready to partner with Governor Whitmer to create transformational change and make state government work for everyone. I look forward to working together to pass long-overdue measures like universal Pre-K, increased investments in infrastructure and climate, and historic funding for our students, teachers, and schools.”
In her speech, Gov. Whitmer laid out her administration’s plans for the coming year. This was the first “State of the State” address delivered in person since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
