Hello neighbor,

I hope that you and your family are doing as well as possible in the aftermath of the tragedy at MSU earlier this week. This hits far too close to home for so many of us here in Downriver and Western Wayne; I’ve spoken with many students, parents, and alumni from our community over these past few days, and their stories are nothing short of heartbreaking. To those who want answers and accountability, I can assure you I have been and will continue to fight to take action on commonsense legislation to address gun violence in our state.

It has been hard to focus on anything else at this time, but I know that I was elected to go to work for the people of District 4, and today we did just that. I was proud that we were able to pass legislation this afternoon which will put more money back into the pockets of Michiganders and help support our working families and seniors.

I’d also like to thank everyone who came out to our Downriver New Majority Town Hall last Wednesday and heard from Rep. Churches and myself. It is always great to hear from my neighbors, and we had a positive and productive conversation about our priorities for the coming years.

Below are the details for two upcoming Coffee Hours I am hosting. These are going to be great opportunities for my Romulus and Brownstown neighbors to discuss the issues that most impact these communities and how we can work to find solutions. I hope to see you there!

WHEN: Monday, February 20, 2023, from 11 am – 12 pm

I hope that these E-Newsletters are helpful as we all work together to make our community a better place. Please do not hesitate to contact me or my office if I can be of any assistance to you or your family.

In Solidarity,

Darrin Camilleri
