LANSING, Mich. (Feb. 26, 2025) — Sen. Darrin Camilleri (D-Trenton) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s “State of the State” address tonight:
“Ensuring that education is both accessible and affordable is essential to setting Michiganders up for success, but access means little if residents can’t get to school or work safely and reliably. That’s why investing in strong infrastructure — our roads, bridges, and public transit — is just as critical. When students and workers have safe, dependable infrastructure, they can take full advantage of educational and economic opportunities.” Camilleri said.
“Our Governor understands the importance of public services like education and infrastructure, recognizing that the two go hand in hand in building a stronger, more prosperous Michigan. I’m looking forward to engaging in the budget process and building on the wins we’ve secured for Downriver and Western Wayne county over the past few years.”
