WOODHAVEN, Mich. (Feb. 13, 2026) — Sen. Darrin Camilleri (D-Trenton) released the following statement after an announcement from Wayne County that work is set to begin on the Allen Road Grade Separation Project in the city of Woodhaven:

“For decades, we’ve been fighting to solve our train crossing backups at Allen and Van Horn, and I’m so proud of our work with the City, County, and Federal governments to secure the funding to get this project started. I’ve made this project my number one priority since I’ve been elected, and I’m so grateful to be at this point where shovels are going in the ground. The construction of this grade separation project proves what can be accomplished when we dream big and reinforces my belief that there is no challenge too great to tackle if we work together.

“I’ll continue to provide updates as they come along, but make sure to watch for road closures in March and plan your routes to go around the construction. I also encourage residents to participate in the upcoming events that will be hosted by Wayne County, including the Community Open House on March 5th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Woodhaven Community Center.”
