Dear Neighbor,

I hope you are enjoying the fun of a pure Michigan winter before the snow melts — even if that means from the comfort of your home. If you haven’t had a chance already, be sure to catch up on the many showstopping Michigan athletes who represented the great state we call home in the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics over the last few weeks!

In this newsletter update, you’ll find some exciting highlights about the Allen Road grade separation project our team has been working on for years — plus details about upcoming events our team is hosting, including one at the Michigan Flight Museum. Read on to learn more.

As always, my office is always available to answer your questions and provide any assistance that you may need. Please do not hesitate to contact us or call my office at 517-373-7918 if you are in need of help.

Allen Road Grade Separation Project Moving Full Steam Ahead!

Proposed rendering of the Allen Road Grade Seperation

For decades, we’ve been fighting to solve our train crossing backups at Allen and Van Horn Roads, and I’m so proud of our work with city, county, and federal leaders to secure the funding to get this project started. I’ve made this my number one priority since I entered the legislature, and I’m so grateful to be at this point where shovels are finally going in the ground.

The construction of this grade separation project proves what can be accomplished when we dream big, and it reinforces my belief that there is no challenge too great to tackle if we work together.

I’ll continue to provide updates as they come along but make sure to watch for road closures in March and plan your routes to get around the construction.

I also encourage residents to participate in the upcoming events that will be hosted by Wayne County, including their Community Open House on March 5th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Woodhaven Community Center.
