“I am optimistic that Gov. Whitmer’s directive to reorganize MDEQ and create an Office of the Environmental Justice Public Advocate will allow an opportunity for environmental justice issues to be addressed — and for wrongs to be righted — for communities disproportionately impacted by pollution, or water that’s been contaminated or priced out of their reach,” Chang said.
