Stephanie "Communist Change" Chang doesn't care about these people. Otherwise Stephanie would do something to impove the Freedom of Information Act and the Open Meetings Act.

October 2 marks Wrongful Conviction Day, a day to recognize causes of wrongful convictions and act on remedies. Michigan has had over 160 exonerations since the late 1960s -- and each of those comes with a human story and the challenges the exoneree faced during the criminal cases, during incarceration, and after being released.

Today, in the Michigan Senate, Jeff Irwin and I spoke about SB 997 and 1014, legislation that will fix gaps in the Wrongful Imprisonment Compensation Act to help more exonerees and allow more DNA testing to ensure that our justice system works to convict the true perpetrators. Thank you to the exonerees, Attorney General's office, Innocence Project and all those who have worked hard on these bills. #MILeg #WrongfulConvictions
