I invite you to join State Representative Abraham Aiyash and me for a Citizenship Day event as we partner with local organizations to provide free citizenship legal services to those interested in applying for American citizenship.
The International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit will be present to help residents with their citizenship applications and we are proud to partner with NAYA Behavioral Health and Human Services and the Bangladeshi American Public Affairs Committee on this event.
WHEN: Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
WHERE: Hamtramck High School Community Center, 11350 Charest St, Hamtramck, MI 48212

For a successful session, please bring the following documents with you:
- Your permanent resident card (“green card”)
- Your driver’s license or state ID card
- Your Social Security number
- If you are married to a U.S. Citizen, their birth certificate and/or certificate of naturalization
- All marriage certificates and divorce records
- Your children’s birth certificates if they are also permanent residents
- List of residences for the past 5 years
- List of employers/schools for the past 5 years.
- List of all trips outside the U.S. for the past 5 years (including Canada and Mexico)
- Check or money order for $725 payable to the Department of Homeland Security, or proof of low income if you qualify for a fee waiver
- Mailing fee of $20 cash or check made out to the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit
