LANSING, Mich. (Nov. 10, 2021) — Sen. Erika Geiss (D-Taylor) has issued the following statement after the Senate Republican majority today passed a resolution condemning President Joe Biden’s “authoritarian” vaccine mandate on private employers:

“Once again, members of the majority party in the Michigan Senate could not resist an opportunity to play politics and peddle divisive rhetoric, instead of doing the one thing we all were sent here to do: deliver real, tangible results for the people of Michigan, especially as they continue to recover from the economic and personal hardships during an ongoing pandemic.

“Meanwhile, billions of dollars that were allocated to Michigan through the various stimulus programs passed at the federal level continue to sit unused for more than a year, while people across our state continue to suffer under the weight of it all. The legislature has a responsibility to lift Michigan’s small businesses and families who are struggling to stay afloat and provide all the relief that is currently available without further delay.”
