Dear Neighbor,

I hope you’re keeping warm as the end of the year brings colder weather to Michigan. With the holiday season here, I extend my best wishes to you and your loved ones and glad tidings for whichever holiday you celebrate.

My hope is for everyone to find joy in this season as well as time to unwind, relax and enjoy the festivities and celebrations. I want to acknowledge this time of year is not necessarily merry for everyone. If you or a loved one is having trouble, in crisis or experiencing trauma, call or text 988 for assistance for yourself or a loved one.

Please stay safe this holiday season. Here are some important tips to remember:

  1. Food safety: Keep perishable foods refrigerated and properly cooked to avoid foodborne illness.
  2. Fire safety: Keep candles away from flammable items and never leave them unattended.
  3. Stay connected: Let someone know your plans and check in with them regularly.
  4. Stay warm: Dress in layers and cover exposed skin when it’s cold outside.
  5. Watch out for scams: Be cautious of online shopping and credit card scams.

Reflecting on the Senate Majority’s achievements this year, it is clear our success stems from genuine conversations and active listening to constituents. The work we accomplished this year puts Michigan on track for a much brighter future. I am eager to continue this impactful work for the people and communities of District 1 in the coming year.

As always, if you or someone you know would like to provide any feedback about what’s happening in Lansing, or needs assistance of any sort, please feel free to reach out to my office. You can email us at SenEGeiss@senate.michigan.gov or call 517-373-7800.

Sincerely,
