Political nonprofit group brings leadership workshop to Dearborn

The nonprofit organization New American Leaders will host its “Ready to Lead” workshop at the Arab American Museum in Dearborn Friday through Sunday.

The program assists first- and second-generation Americans who are interested in running for local or national office, according to a news release.

Workshop attendees will learn the ins and outs of campaigning: fundraising, speech writing, and handling hostile environments.

The event will feature speakers from the organization, as well as State Senator Erika Geiss; Ghida Dagher, director of appointments for the office of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer; and State Representatives Darrin Camilleri, Padma Kuppa, Alex Garza and Yousef Rabhi.
