LANSING, Mich. (Jan. 11, 2023) — Sen. Kevin Hertel (D-St. Clair Shores) has issued the following statement after introducing a bill to repeal the retirement tax on Michigan seniors:
“For over a decade, Michigan families have been waiting for a legislature that would put their needs first,” said Hertel. “Repealing the retirement tax not only keeps our promise to retirees by keeping money in their pockets, but it also adds to our state’s wonderful natural resources and recreation opportunities as a way to attract seniors and families looking for a place to call home.”
