HARSENS ISLAND, Mich. (July 31, 2023) — Sen. Kevin Hertel (D-St. Clair Shores) will join Clay Township Supervisor Artie Bryson on Tuesday, August 1 to meet with Harsens Island business owners and tour the prospective site for a new wastewater treatment plant. This event will be an opportunity for Sen. Hertel to speak directly with business owners from the Sans Souci business district who have been impacted by the island’s lack of critical water infrastructure and discuss how the new treatment plant — made possible by funds he secured in the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget — will be transformational for the area.
This event is occurring ahead of a community town hall meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 17 on Harsens Island where Sen. Hertel will join Supervisor Bryson to discuss the upcoming project more in-depth with residents and answer their questions.
