Last Thursday, history was made. The Michigan Senate passed common-sense gun legislation that will save lives from being lost due to gun violence and suicide.
- Senate Bills 76-78: Background checks - Require universal background checks on all gun purchases.
- Senate Bills 79-82: Child access protection - Require that firearms be properly secured when they could be accessible to minors.
- Senate Bills 83-86: Extreme risk protection orders - Enact extreme risk protection orders, also known as red flag laws, to temporarily intervene to suspend a person’s access to firearms if they show clear warning signs of violence.
