LANSING, Mich. (May 14, 2026) – As Planned Parenthood centers face historic federal funding cuts and are on the brink of having to reduce operations in Michigan, the Michigan Senate Democrats are reaffirming their full commitment to ensuring every resident has access to the care they need. Today, the caucus issued the following statement:
“We believe every person should have access to affordable, quality healthcare. And we also believe that every woman has the right to decide if, when, and how to grow a family.
“Planned Parenthood has helped millions of people get the care they need, all while suffering incessant attacks from the Right.
“This situation is yet again illustrating that you cannot count on Republicans in office to look out for you when your healthcare is on the line.
“We have always stood with Planned Parenthood and will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with its providers while we weather this storm together.”
