Last night at the Grand Rapids African American Museum and Archives Gala, Minnie Forbes was honored for her contributions to Negro League Baseball history — Minnie was the owner of the Detroit Stars and is the last surviving Negro League Baseball team owner. There were also several Negro League Baseball players in attendance.

State Representative Kristian Grant and Team Brinks presented Mrs. Forbes with a legislative tribute recognizing her legacy of trailblazing. We're grateful to GRAAMA for celebrating and elevating Grand Rapids’ strong African American history.
