ROMULUS, Mich. (April 29, 2026) — Following the announcement that Romulus Propulsion Systems will receive hundreds of millions of dollars as part of an $830 million nationwide investment from General Motors, Sen. Darrin Camilleri (D-Trenton) applauded the efforts to increase production work and bring more jobs to Michigan.
“As the automotive capital of the world, building cars is in the lifeblood of our Downriver and Western Wayne communities. It is vital to our region’s well-being that our Big 3 manufacturers continue to invest in our state and support our union workforce. By committing $300 million to increase production capacity, it’s clear that General Motors believes in the future of the Romulus Engine Facility. I’m excited for what’s next as Michigan continues to serve as the leader in automotive manufacturing.”
