Music in the Park
I had a wonderful evening at Music in the Park with the Macomb Township Board meeting residents and handing out resource booklets!
Unveiling of Macomb’s State-of-the-Art Skilled Trades and Advanced Technology Center
Macomb Community College is an incredible asset to both Macomb County and the state of Michigan. I was glad to be able to attend the unveiling of their new state-of-the-art Skilled Trades and Advanced Technology Center, and I look forward to seeing the continued accomplishments of the students.
Roundtable Discussion on Veteran Suicide
I am proud to serve as Chair of the Veterans and Emergency Services Committee in the Senate. As we continue to work on legislation to take care of our veterans, I was honored to participate in a roundtable discussion to discuss behavioral health and suicide prevention with Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist, Senator Kevin Hertel, Major General Rogers and veterans service organizations.
UPCOMING EVENTS
We’ve had great turnout at our recent events, including a joint community conversation with Representative Edwards. If you haven’t been able to make it out to one yet, we hope to see you at one soon!

Helping Medicaid Members Keep Their Coverage
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government declared a Public Health Emergency (PHE), allowing Medicaid members to keep their health care coverage. Per recent federal legislation, eligibility renewals were planned to start again in June. However, now Medicaid beneficiaries with upcoming deadlines for returning renewal forms will have an additional month to submit paperwork to avoid loss of health care coverage due to not responding. This timeline will continue monthly going forward through May 2024 and does include individuals with a Monday, July 31 deadline.
Learn more at Michigan.gov/mdhhs/2023benefitchanges.
Following these steps will help determine if you still qualify:
