Here’s some very recent women’s history👇🏼 to celebrate International Women’s Day:
The Democratic caucus is led by the first woman Majority Leader in Michigan history, Senator Winnie Brinks.
Just before I entered the senate, there were as many senators named “Mike” as TOTAL women in the senate (4 “Mikes”/4 women).
There wasn’t a women’s bathroom in the senate chamber until 1990!
Now we have more women than men on the Democratic side of the aisle.

We delivered over 100,000 petitions to Wayne State University today, asking them to end their 35-year-long experiment on dogs, which you have paid for in the amount of $15 million of your taxpayer dollars.
We delivered over 130 dog tags as well, each engraved with the name/(number in lieu of name) and death date of each of the dogs that have died as a result of the experiment since 2010. In total, 300 dogs have died in this experiment.
These dogs have never touched grass, never played with another dog, are subjected to discomfort and pain, and are euthanized when Wayne State is finished with them.
I have asked the National Institute of Health to not renew the grant, which expires at the end of this month, that keeps this archaic experiment running.
