JACKSON, Mich. (August 4, 2025) — On Friday, August 1, Sen. Sue Shink (D-Northfield Twp.) hosted her annual Senior Summit at the Crouch Senior Center in Jackson. The community event helped connect local senior citizens to services available to them, offered them valuable information about their legal rights, how to avoid scams, and how to protect their identity, among other helpful resources from various organizations and agencies.
“Our seniors contribute so much to our communities, from mentorship and civic engagement to social connection and support. I was thrilled to host this community event to help give back to our local seniors and ensure they have the support they need to thrive,” said Sen. Shink. “Thank you to the engaged community members who came out and also to the helpful organizations and agencies who offered their services and expertise to benefit our local seniors. The Crouch Senior Center is a wonderful place, and I appreciate them hosting us.”
During the Senior Summit, Sen. Shink also shared important updates from the Capitol, including her work championing legislation to reduce prescription drug prices, while helping constituents overcome barriers and access critical resources.
