ANN ARBOR, MI (Aug. 19, 2025) — Yesterday, Sen. Sue Shink (D-Northfield Twp.) hosted her annual Senior Summit at the Peace Neighborhood Center in Ann Arbor. This event connected seniors in the community with a variety of resources and services from local organizations and agencies, including the Secretary of State, in addition to valuable information on their legal rights, how to avoid scams, and how to protect themselves from identity theft or fraud.

“One of the most important parts of my job as a lawmaker is connecting directly with the hardworking people I represent, and community events like yesterday’s Senior Summit are the perfect opportunity to do just that. I got to hear from so many local seniors about the issues that matter most to them while also helping them access the many incredible resources available statewide and here in District 14,” said Sen. Shink. “Thank you to all the engaged community members who came out to meet with me, and thanks to the Peace Neighborhood Center team for hosting us.”

During the Senior Summit, Sen. Shink also provided important updates on her work in the Capitol, including her efforts to lower prescription drug costs and help constituents access the help they need from state departments.
